Western Texas College plans to proudly celebrate its graduating students during the 2026 Commencement Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, in the WTC Coliseum. Western Texas College (WTC) warmly welcomes family members, friends, and community supporters to share in this special milestone. Admission is free and open to the public, no tickets required.

Graduating students may invite as many guests as they wish. Guests may sit in the upper levels of the WTC Coliseum. WTC reserves the floor area for graduates, faculty, staff, and accessible seating before and during the ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests may come to the floor for a reception to congratulate graduates and capture photos.

The ceremony program features several familiar campus leaders. Stephanie Ducheneaux, Vice President for Academic Affairs, will present the Class of 2026. Jason West, President of the Western Texas College Board of Trustees, will confer the certificates and degrees. Dr. Geron Scates, Professor of Speech, Division Chair for Communications and Behavioral Science, and KGWB Radio Station Manager, will introduce the graduates. Dr. Laurie Sharp, Western Texas College President, will welcome guests and deliver closing remarks.

This year’s speaker is Teodora Shukuloska, WTC’s 2026 Outstanding Student. Originally from Skopje, Macedonia, Shukuloska is majoring in Engineering. During her time at WTC, she served as setter on the WTC Volleyball Team, supported classmates through the peer tutoring program, and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa.

The WTC Association will also announce the recipient of the Edward R. Barkowsky Education Award during the ceremony. The honor recognizes a current or former WTC faculty or staff member whose service has made a lasting difference for the college, its students, or the community.
