Visitors to the Museum may view the artwork anytime during the Museum’s normal operating hours, Tuesdays through Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“The student art exhibit is such a fantastic time to see the culmination of these young adults’ artistic journeys here at Western Texas College,” said Patrick Schneider, Assistant Professor of Art.
“I am proud of the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated this past year, which truly shows in these artworks.”
The exhibit includes work created by students John Alcantar, Izzy Bird, Lanie Guzman, Geo Mireles, Avery Owen, Gracia Pryor, Ariel Schmidt, and Mike Stanfield.
“I find this annual show very inspiring, and it tends to inform my own creativity,” said Lorenzo Sands, Chief Marketing and Events Officer. “It’s fascinating to see the artwork from these talented artists because it gives us an insight into their views of the world and what they’re thinking about.”
The artworks showcase a variety of mediums: acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, clay, pencil, and charcoal among many others.
“The Scurry County Museum offers a great space to exhibit art,” added Sands. “Easily accessible and easy to find. The Museum is and always has been a great partner to the students at WTC. They are very supportive.”
“For the graduating sophomores, it is also exciting to imagine what amazing works they’ll produce at the next level, and the positive change they’ll bring about with their art and talents,” added Schneider.
