Western Texas College will host a community meet and greet from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, welcoming its new president, Dr. Laurie Sharp. The come-and-go event, open to the public, will take place in the Westerner Room at the WTC Coliseum.

“WTC Gets Sharp: A Westerner Welcome for the New President” is designed to bring together community members, local leaders, foundation and organizational board members, alumni, and business and industry partners who support the college and its mission.

The event offers attendees an opportunity to meet Dr. Sharp personally and learn more about her vision for Western Texas College. During the event, Dr. Sharp will share an overview of the college’s strategic plan and invite feedback from community members and stakeholders as the planning process moves forward.

“Western Texas College has always been deeply connected to the community it serves,” said Lora Poe, Foundation and Event Coordinator for Western Texas College. “This come-and-go meet and greet is a chance to welcome Dr. Sharp and invite the community into the conversation about the college’s future.”

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served for guests coming straight from the workday. The event is hosted by the Western Texas College Foundation.

Community members interested in attending are encouraged to contact the Western Texas College Foundation for additional information. Contact Lora Poe at 325-574-7943 or email lora.poe@wtc.edu.
