Student Accessibility Services partners with students, faculty, and staff to provide reasonable accommodations that support equal access to instructional programs, services, activities, and housing.

NEED ACCOMMODATIONS?

Students requesting accommodations should contact Student Accessibility Services as early as possible. Early requests help ensure accommodations can be reviewed and implemented in a timely manner.

To receive instructional accommodations, students must be admitted to Western Texas College and registered for classes. Students requesting housing accommodations must be admitted to Western Texas College and approved for campus housing.

ACCOMMODATION PROCESS

  1. Submit a Request: Student completes the Accommodation Request Form and provide supporting documentation.

  2. Review and Assessment: Student Accessibility Services reviews documentation and consults with appropriate college personnel to determine reasonable accommodations.

  3. Interactive Review: Additional information or discussion with the student may be requested to clarify accommodation needs.

  4. Accommodation Determination: Students receive written notification of approved accommodations.

  5. Implementation: Approved accommodations are communicated to appropriate faculty and staff, as applicable.

The Accessibility Coordinator reviews instructional accommodation requests and recommends reasonable accommodations.

The Housing Director reviews housing accommodation requests and recommends reasonable accommodations.
