Western Texas College took over operations of the Scurry County Coliseum in June 2008 and immediately started a face-lift to modernize the stately venue. One prime strategy is in place as the college proceeds with its plans for the facility. WTC wants to increase utilization with events that will introduce visitors to the great hospitality of West Texas and to provide the citizens of Scurry County a gathering place for a variety of events.

The facility has great parking and is near U.S. Highway 84, which connects Snyder with Lubbock and Sweetwater. Interstate 20 is only 25 miles away. Snyder is located in the center of the Golden Triangle between Midland/Odessa, Lubbock, and Abilene.
