  1. Basic Course Information
    1. Course Description: Advanced topics in GTAW welding, including welding in various positions and directions.
    2. Any required prerequisites: Freshman level courses or permission of instructor
    3. Required Grade for Enrolling in the Next Course in this Sequence: Satisfactory Completion
  2. Student Learning Outcomes
    1. Demonstrate proficiency in various welding positions
    2. Describe safety rules and equipment used
    3. Describe the effects of welding parameters in GTAW
    4. Weld various joint designs
    5. Diagnose welding problems
    6. Perform visual inspection
  3. Testing Requirements
    1. The final exam will take place in the welding classroom.
    2. Students are NOT allowed to use their book or but can use notes of any kind while taking their tests and exams.
    3. Students are allowed to use a calculator. 
  4. Major Course Requirements
    1. Attendance - 10%
    2. Participation – 20%
    3. Welding Fabrication Projects – 70%

All students will go through a variety of steps to learn advanced techniques to cut different types of metals, chose electrodes and to weld in various positions.
