    1. Course Description: An introduction to oxy-fuel welding and cutting, safety, setup and maintenance of oxy-fuel welding, and cutting equipment and supplies
    2. Any required prerequisites: None, Introductory

  2. Student Learning Outcomes
    1. Demonstrate oxy-fuel welding and cutting safety procedures
    2. Identify and classify fuels and filler metals
    3. Perform entry-level oxy-fuel welding and cutting operations
    4. Select proper equipment and materials.
  3. Testing Requirements
    1. The final exam will take place in the welding classroom.
    2. Students are NOT allowed to use their book notes of any kind while taking their tests and exams.
    3. Students are allowed to use a calculator. 
  4. Major Course Requirements
    1. Attendance - 10%
    2. Participation – 20%
    3. Welding Fabrication Projects – 70%

All students will go through a variety of steps to learn about cutting different types of metals, what electrode to use as well as to weld in various positions.
