- Basic Course Information
- BNBM 0302 Course Description: Topics in mathematics such as arithmetic operations, basic algebraic concepts and notation, geometry, and real and complex number systems.
- This Intervention is designed specifically for students assessed at BASE levels 3-4. It is a mainstreamed intensifier providing contact hours for additional, just-in-time instructional support for the student's success in Math 0302.
- MATH 0302 Course Description: The course supports students in developing skills, strategies, and reasoning needed to succeed in mathematics, including communication and appropriate use of technology. Topics include the study of numeracy and the real number system; algebraic concepts, notation, and reasoning; quantitative relationships; mathematical models; and problem-solving.
- The final overall grade the student earns in Math 0302 will also be the final overall grade the student earns in BNBM 0302.
- Any required prerequisites: Students must have the appropriate placement test score.
- Required Grade for Enrolling in the Next Course in this Sequence: A grade of C in this course is required to advance to MATH 0303 or MATH 1332.
- Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) learning strategies will be implemented periodically throughout the course.
- This course has been designed to prepare students whose chosen field of study requires a STEM mathematical pathway.
- Project Base Learning (PBL) is an active learning method in which students gain knowledge and skill by investigating and responding to a tangible, engaging and complex question, problem or challenge.
