
Western Texas College Honors Employees with Service Awards
Western Texas College celebrated with their employees at a Potluck Luncheon and Award Ceremony on Thursday, December 1. “It’s vital for us to recognize these milestones,” declared Dr. Barb Beebe, College President. “The awards represent years of service to education, the community, and most importantly, our students.
The College marks years of service in five-year increments. Retirees from the current year also receive special recognition at the ceremony.
Five-year honorees include Melissa Avila, Head Volleyball Coach; Kelly Cook, Head Men & Women's Golf Coach; Christylee DeBlieck, Coordinator of International Student Services; Molli Fleming, Workforce Education Coordinator; Esther Hernandez, Corrections Administrative Assistant; Margie Lopez, Security Guard; Jan McClain, Talent Search Advisor; Gary Miller, Head Baseball Coach; Ashley Ramirez, Payroll; Margie Sosa, Cashier; Michelle Sosa, Financial Aid Advisor; and Jeff Stewart, Welding Instructor.
Employees honored with ten years of service were Dr. Barb Beebe, College President, and James Williams, Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach.
Fifteen-year employees celebrated at the event consisted of Korie Allen, Online Advisor; Jessica Colvin, Assistant Professor of Agriculture; and Candis Kelly, Computer Maintenance Technology Instructor.
Julia Lewis, Talent Search Director, and Darla Wiggins, WTC Coliseum Manager, received twenty-year awards. Both employees joined the ranks of other twenty-year award recipients now visible on the Western Texas College website at wtc.edu/employeeserviceawards.
Rodeo Coach Greg Rhodes and Stephanie Ducheneaux, Dean of Instructional Affairs earned twenty-five-year awards.
Dr. Jay Kidd, Board of Trustees Vice President, received his thirty-year award for his dedicated years of service. The College also honored retiree Tami Linebarger, Office Manager/Registration & Admissions.
