WTC Welcomes Hargrove to Board of Trustees

01/12/22

SNYDER—Western Texas College welcomed Amy Hargrove to the Board of Trustees at the January 2022 Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 10. She was sworn in by Melanie Schwertner, the College President’s Administrative Assistant.

“We are delighted with the appointment of Amy as a member of the Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Barb Beebe, College President. “We welcome her wealth of experience as a business owner and active community member.”

After graduating from Snyder High School in 1992, Hargrove earned an accounting degree from Texas A&M University. She and her husband Mark returned to Snyder where she has owned and operated Hargrove Crop Insurance since 1996.

“As a lifelong resident of Scurry County, I’ve seen the many benefits that Western Texas College brings to the community as well as the educational opportunities for students from the surrounding area,” observed Hargrove.

Hargrove and her husband Mark have two children: Callie, a sophomore at Texas A&M University, and Ethan, a junior at Borden County High School.

She continues to remain dedicated and active in the community. Hargrove previously served on the Board of the Snyder Christian School and various committees at First United Methodist Church. The Snyder Chamber of Commerce honored Hargrove with the Winston Award
in 2019.

The sudden loss of beloved Board of Trustees President Lee Presswood left a vacancy on the board at the end of 2021. The motion to appoint Hargrove as a member of the Board of Trustees was carried unanimously. The Board elected Eddie Peterson as President and Dr. Jay Kidd as Vice President.
