WTC to Move Classes Online due to COVID-19 Concerns

03/16/20

In light of the ever-changing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, Western Texas College Administrative Staff decided this morning to move all face-to-face classes to an online format for the rest of the semester due to COVID-19 concerns.

Students should email their professors to receive instructions about how classes will operate moving forward.

College offices will open March 17, 2020, and operate regular business hours. Please be patient as some offices will operate with limited staff.

The LRC/Library will remain open during business hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.

WTC will provide means for our dorm students to be able to utilize online instruction as well. We are still in the planning stages of how to proceed with our CTE classes.

Residence halls and the cafeteria will remain open as long as there are students on campus.

Following the Center for Disease Control guidelines, WTC is canceling all group events through the end of the semester. WTC’s canceled events include, but are not limited to:

  • the WTC Rodeo April 2-4, 2020
  • Student Awards day, April 24, 2020
  • Western Texas College Commencement, May 5, 2020.
