SNYDER— Western Texas College Agriculture Department is pleased to announce the addition of Snyder native Courtney Pollard. She will join the department as an assistant coach for the WTC Meats Judging Team and the WTC Swine Show Team.

“I have seen her work with our students the last few weeks and I am very impressed with the rapport they have developed and how diligently she has worked with them,” said Jessica Colvin, Assistant Professor of Agriculture.

“Their scores and confidence at our first contest at the National Western reflected this,” added Colvin.

Pollard graduated from Snyder High School in 2013 and stayed very active with numerous activities in the agriculture department during her high school career. After graduation, she continued to Angelo State University where she quickly got involved in the agriculture department.

Pollard competed on the 2015-2016 intercollegiate meats judging team and the 2015 and 2016 meats quiz bowl team through the American Meat Science Association. She is the current president of the Meat and Food Science Association, Angelo State University chapter.

Pollard will earn her bachelor’s degree in food animal science and marketing in May of 2017. She plans to obtain a Masters of Business while continuing as an assistant coach at Western Texas College.
