Western Texas College 2021 Commencement

Congratulations, graduates! We’re so excited and proud of all you have accomplished while at Western Texas College. We are pleased that we can honor you with an in-person commencement ceremony this year!

The Western Texas College 2021 Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the WTC Coliseum, 900 East Coliseum Drive, Snyder, Texas. Please note that the WTC Coliseum is not on the Western Texas College campus.

WTC Coliseum Location

Graduates are welcome to invite family and friends to this year’s ceremony. Guest seating is located on the upper levels of the venue. Handicap access is available. We strongly encourage guests attending the ceremony to wear a mask and social distance when possible.

The floor area of the WTC Coliseum where the ceremony will take place is reserved for graduates, faculty, and event staff only. All persons on the floor are required to wear masks. Westerner masks will be provided to graduates the morning of the ceremony. Graduates may remove their masks to walk the stage.

WTC respectfully asks that guests not enter the floor before, during, or after the ceremony.

For those wanting to take photos after the ceremony, we ask that you take photos outside. Backdrops will be set up near the front doors specifically for that purpose.

For those not able to attend, Commencement will be livestreamed on WTC’s YouTube channel.

Kassi Westerman Photography will take photos of graduates on the stage receiving their degrees or certificates from the College President. The photos will be available for purchase within 10-20 days after the ceremony. To purchase photos, please visit https://kassiwesterman.com/.

If you or a family member or friend needs special assistance with handicap seating, please contact Darla Wiggins, WTC Coliseum Manager, at 325-574-6574.

Graduation Practice

Candidates for graduation should report to the WTC Coliseum on Monday, May 3, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. for graduation practice. The practice should last no longer than two hours.

During this time, Vice-President and Dean of Student Services Ralph Ramon will lead our graduates through a practice of the ceremony.

It is extremely important that graduates attend the practice so each graduate knows:

  • Your place in the lineup
  • How to enter for the ceremony (the processional)
  • Where your seat is for the ceremony
  • Where and how to line up to walk the stage to receive your degree or certificate
  • Where to stop and pose for the photographer with the College President, Dr. Beebe
  • How to exit after the ceremony (the recessional)
