The Petroleum Technology program at Western Texas College will host its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 25, 2020, starting at 9:00 a.m. The tournament will be played at the Sammy Baugh Golf Course on the Western Texas College campus. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third-place golfers.

“Last year, many teams consisted of current students or graduates from the program as well as friends and family of graduates,” noted Dana Fahntrapp, Petroleum Technology instructor.

“This year we hope to max out on team spots by moving the tournament to a Saturday.”

First-place winners will each receive a Titlist Pro Staff Stand Bag (retail value $320). Second place winners will each receive three dozen Titleist Pro V golf balls (retail value $150.00). Third place winners will be able to order a new pair of FJ Flex XP golf shoes (retail value $110).

“This is an opportunity to play golf for a good cause,” noted Fahntrapp. “All proceeds benefit the Petroleum Technology program students by continuing to build our curriculum and training facilities.”

A raffle for a Scotty Cameron Phantom X 12 Putter (retail value of $429.00) will also be held on the day of the tournament. Raffle tickets will be available for $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00.  People who purchase tickets need not be present to win.

The format for the tournament is a four-person scramble. Four-person teams are $400. Mulligans will be available to purchase the day of the tournament. Limited carts are available, so Fahntrapp suggests registering early to reserve your cart.

“The 2019-2020 school year has seen the highest enrollment rates since the program started. Because of our increased enrollment, we need to continue developing our program to include to latest technologies and possibilities for our students.”
