Western Texas College 47th Commencement

Western Texas College will hold its 47th Commencement on May 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be held at The Coliseum, 900 East Coliseum Drive in Snyder.

Commencement provides an opportunity for the College to confer degrees and certificates to qualified candidates for graduation.

Jason Tyler, Emergency Medical Services Director for Scurry County EMS, will be the speaker at this year’s commencement ceremony.

Tyler earned an Associates of Arts degree majoring in pre-law and an Associates of Applied Sciences degree majoring in Emergency Medical Services from Western Texas College. He also earned his basic certification as an emergency medical technician from Amarillo College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Services Systems from Texas Tech University.

Tyler was the second recipient of the WTC Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017. The highest honor granted to an alumnus of WTC, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding alumni who have demonstrated leadership in their chosen profession and distinguished themselves through service to their community. 

Family and friends of graduates as well as members of the community are all welcome to attend the ceremony.
