Coach Tammy Davis is beginning her fourth year at the helm of the Lady Westerner basketball team. After a difficult 2008-2009 season riddled with injury, Davis looks forward to the challenge of focusing the efforts of the team in hopes of making it to post-season play. Her 2007-2008 team advanced to the semi-final round of the regional tournament and the goal is to return and advance. Davis’ teams have also achieved in the classroom carrying a high GPA. Every season has brought academic honors -- including NJCAA All-American Academic Teams and the WBCA All-Academic teams.
All players who have finished playing within Davis’ program have graduated from WTC and many have moved on to play at 4 year institutions.
Coach Davis is a former Lady Raider having the opportunity to play at Texas Tech University under legendary Coach Marsha Sharp. After playing for Tech, she was a student assistant for an additional year while finishing her degree. She graduated from TTU in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in physical education. After finishing her degree at Texas Tech University she was hired as an assistant coach at Northern Arizona University. While there she assisted with recruiting, student/athlete academic tracking, daily program needs and was in charge of recruit visit scheduling, opponent scout film acquirement and post player development. She spent two years at Northern Arizona University.
Coach Davis also has extensive high school coaching experience where several of her teams advanced to the state tourney finishing at the top of their respective divisions including a state runner up and 3rd place finish. She was also selected to serve on several all-star selection committees and was awarded Coach of the Year honors on two different occasions.
Coach Davis has worked many summer camps including Michael Cooper, Marsha Sharp and Kristy Curry, San Juan College basketball camps and has run many of her own camps.
Coach Davis has been married to her husband Darryl for 22 years and they have three children – Brooklynn, Malik, and Kamiah.

Associate Coach

Darryl Davis is in his fourth year as associate head coach with the Lady Westerners. He serves as the recruiting coordinator on staff and his primary responsibilities include perimeter player development, recruiting, academic tracking and scouting opponents. He has been instrumental in helping the Lady Westerners advance both athletically and academically. The 2007-2008 season brought post-season play to the program with advancement to the semi-final round of the regional tournament. Academically, teams have been named to the NJCAA Academic All-American team and the WBCA All-Academic team in 06-07, 07-08 & 08-09.
Davis previously has had the opportunity to work in the high school ranks as associate head coach where he helped guide programs to a high level which included opportunities to participate and earn a state runner up and third place finish. From these teams he has coached many players who are currently competing at the college level.
Coach Davis began his career with the National Junior College Scouting Service, where he scouted and reported for one of the top scouting services in the nation. During his employment with this service he had the opportunity to cover the Western Athletic Junior College Conference, which is one of the top conferences in the country.
After completion of his degree at Lubbock Christian University he was a volunteer assistant coach for Northern Arizona University where he assisted with perimeter player development, scouting and recruiting.
Davis played for New Mexico Junior College prior to attending Lubbock Christian University where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1990. He has worked and co-directed many basketball camps including WTC Women’s Basketball Camps, Texas Tech Lady Raider Camps, San Juan College “Shakin’ N’ Bakin” Camps and numerous high school clinics.
He and his wife, Tammy, reside in Snyder with their three children, Brooklynn, Malik and Kamiah.
