  1. Basic Course Information
    1. Course Description:  An introduction to welding careers, equipment and safety practices, including OSHA standards for industry
    2. Any required prerequisites: None, Introductory
    3. Required Grade for Enrolling in the Next Course in this Sequence: Satisfactory Completion
  2. Student Learning Outcomes
    1. List welding careers
    2. Explain welding safety practices, OSHA and the Hazardous Communications Act
    3. MSDS
    4. List hazards associated with welding equipment and processes
    5. Use and maintain tools and equipment
    6. Practice shop welding safety
    7. Identify hazards associated with gases, fluxes, electrodes and equipment
    8. Interpret an MSDS
    9. Name different welding processes and explain their operation
  3. Testing Requirements
    1. The final exam will take place in the welding classroom.
    2. Students are NOT allowed to use their book or notes of any kind while taking their tests and exams.
    3. Students are allowed to use a calculator.

    2. Homework/Quizzes 40%
    3. Final Exam 50%
