Partial Compliance

The chief executive officer of Western Texas College is the President, who, in accordance with Board Policy, can not serve as the president of the Board of Trustees.  The primary responsibility of the President is to the Western Texas College Board of Trustees for the implementation of board policies.  Board Policy 2100, (LINK)  Administrative Policy 2100, (LINK) and Board Policy 8300, A, 1, and 3 (LINK)  of the Institutional Policy Manual provide that the Board must establish policy, while the President is charged with  carrying out the policies established by the Board.  As stipulated in Board Policy 9122  (LINK) (By-Laws of the Board), the Board of Trustees must elect its own president from within its membership.  Duties of the president of the Board of Trustees are listed in the By-Laws of the Board (Board Policy 9210 (LINK) of the Institutional Policy Manual).
