T-STEM Scholarship Application
 
 

T-STEM scholarships are merit scholarships based on past and continued student performance in specific instructional programs. All students (including second year students) who meet the initial scholarship requirements are eligible. To receive an initial (first-year) T-STEM scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduate from high school with at least a 3.0 GPA on a four-point scale in mathematics and science courses
  • Enroll at WTC and self-declare a major in a T-STEM Instructional Program

To continue, students must:

  • Complete a minimum of 30 semester credit hours during their first academic year
  • Maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  • Complete at least 80 percent of all semester credit hours attempted during each semester of the prior academic year

The scholarship is designed for full-time students. Some additional criteria will be verified before funds are awarded. Certificate students are eligible. The maximum award is $2500 per year.

Students who self-declare the following majors (and enroll in appropriate classes) are encouraged to apply:

  • Computer Science, Information Science, Support services
  • Engineering
  • Engineering Technologies/Technicians (includes petroleum)
  • Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Math and statistics
  • Pre-dentist, pre-nursing, pre-medicine
