Charles Long was chosen to begin the men’s and women’s soccer program at Western Texas College. Long came to WTC with a wide range of experience developing programs and coaching at the collegiate level. On the collegiate level Long has developed programs at Belhaven College, University of West Florida, Mount Marty College and Southwestern Oregon Community College. Together with his college coaching, Long has worked with all ages developing club programs, ODP, select teams and semi-professional. Son of missionary parents, Long grew up playing soccer in the streets of Brazil and has played at all levels.
Long holds a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies and Physical Education. He is fluent in Portuguese, his native language.

Men & Women Assistant

Angela Long came to Western Texas College with experience assistant coaching, managing programs, fundraising, promotions, administration and running camps. She has helped at the collegiate level, high school and youth levels in all areas and is a great asset to our program. She is responsible for youth soccer, camps and administration for both men and women soccer programs and helps with day to day operations.

Men & Women Student Assistant
Coach - Richard Bywater
Richard Bywater moves from the playing ranks into coaching for Western Texas College. Having played last season for the first ever men’s soccer team here at WTC he is pursuing his dream of coaching. Raised playing soccer in Yorkshire England, played at a semi-pro level. Bywater started coaching at the age of 16 working for the Bobby Charlton's Soccer Schools in Malta for a year. Recently, he has been working with Challenger Sports in the summers running youth camps.
