2009-2010 Team
Coming off a great first season of competition, the men’s soccer team is looking to continue building for the future. The first season saw the team do well on the field and in the classroom with a record of 18-3, together with a 4th place academic finish. The team was able to win NJCAA Area V and placed several players on the all-area team and one all-American. In the community, the team volunteer- coached with the local youth league and spent many hours helping at the local school. With a large number of new players added to a strong returning nucleus the outlook is good for another strong season. A challenge for this year’s team is to fill the holes left by some outstanding players who have moved to the next level, including top scorer Musa Kamara. New players to watch are Billy Forbes, Igor Dias, and Guilherme Sampaio . The team returns eighteen players from last year – including goalie Gerardo Acero and center mid Chris Dwyer -- and has added more than 20 new players. “The future looks bright,” said head coach Charles long.
