New Money for Career Training
In 2009, the Texas Legislature approved a new $25 million Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) program to help Texans get technical training for careers in fast-growing, “high-demand” occupations. These include high-paying fields such as high-tech manufacturing, computer support, nursing and allied health professions.
The need for the Launchpad Fund arises as students increasingly look for ways to pay for costs associated with college.
