Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education program is designed to prepare students to care for and educate young children from birth through age 8 and to provide training for caregivers or administrators in early childhood programs.

The A.A.S. program requires students to complete 61 semester credit hours. The curriculum includes two practicum courses, the second of which would be used to satisfy the capstone requirement. Students pursuing the Level I Certificate program can complete an 18 hour Child Development Certificate and/or a 30 semester credit hour Early Childhood Certificate in the major area of study.

Degree and Certification requirements are subject to approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
