COMMUNICATION DESIGN INSTRUCTOR

This full time, 9-month teaching position will start mid-August 2010.  The instructor will direct a two-year graphic design program and teach conceptual and technical skill classes (typography, design communication, digital publishing, web design, etc). Strong design skills; a commitment to ongoing professional development to stay abreast of  a rapidly changing field; and a commitment to teaching excellence is essential. The position will involve teaching introductory through advanced undergraduate graphic design classes, course and program development, department advising, commitment to professional involvement and service. Candidates must possess the ability to effectively communicate the orderly and systematic approach of solving design problems to a diverse student population.
 
Requirements: BFA or BA in a related field required (ie. multimedia graphic design, graphic design, etc); MFA or MA in studio arts a bonus; experience in instructional area and/or teaching preferred. 9-month teaching period.  Salary range, depending on education and experience.
