How to Find a Book
On Campus Search
To search for books in the WTC Library from the Library Computer Center:
- Click on the Spectrum icon on the computer desktop
; this will take you to the Sagebrush Spectrum 5 catalog.
- The search window opens; type search terms into the search space provided.
In Easy Mode, which is the default, you may search using:
- Keywords - Useful for general searches; covers author, title, subjects, all in the same search.
- Titles - Works best if you know an exact title.
- Authors - When you know the exact author. Remember, last name, then comma, then first name.
- Subjects - Library of Congress subject headings, good for narrowing down a search such as all books about an author instead of all books by an author.
In Extended Search Mode, found by clicking on the top tab, you may search using up to three combinations of:
- Keywords
- Titles
- Authors
- Subjects
- Series Title
- Call Number
- Material Type
- Copyright Date
- ISBN
- LCCN
Off Campus Search
To search for books in the WTC Library from off campus:
- Go to the WTC Library homepage and click on 'Off Campus Access" then "Search Catalog"
You may search using the following terms in up to three combinations:
- Keywords
- Titles
- Authors
- Subjects
- Series Title
- Call Number
- Material Type
- Copyright Date
- ISBN
- LCCN
