Welcome to the Western Texas College Security Department web page. Our goal is to provide the community with a safe and secure academic environment. It is our desire to create a community in which citizens can safely reach their academic and social potential. Our department provides all security services to the Western Texas College community. This web page is an integral part of our safety and security program. We use it to provide citizens with timely security information and as an educational resource.

We encourage citizens to provide our department input regarding the services we provide. More importantly, we want them to feel confident that they will receive professional customer service from each member of our department.

The Security Department maintains monthly and annual crime statistics as mandated by The Clery Act. All rules and regulations are clearly discussed and presented in written form to the students. Disciplinary issues are handled with fairness, enhancing the personal guidance and social growth function of the institutional mission. We are pleased to boast an admirable record of peace and safety for our campus environment.

The OPE Campus Security Statistics Website is brought to you by the Office of Postsecondary Education of the U.S. Department of Education. It was authorized by Congress with the 1998 amendment to the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA) to help potential college students and their parents research criminal offenses on college campuses. The Department of Education is committed to assisting schools in providing students with a safe environment in which to learn and to keep parents and students well informed about campus security.

We pledge our commitment to provide the highest level of security services that all citizens deserve.
